ResourcesIberian Wolf Portuguese National Census

Project: Between 2019 and 2021, the National Iberian Wolf Census is being carried out in Portugal at the request of the Portuguese government. Six research teams are working in six study areas. The main objectives of this wolf monitoring are to update information on 1) distribution and 2) population numbers. Our team is working in the NW of Portugal. Transects, scats molecular analysis, camera trapping, howling sessions and observation points are the basic methodological procedures in this wolf monitoring.
