These elegant, long-legged wolves are only found in a handful of scattered mountains in Ethiopia. Some 500 survive today in small populations, threatened by loss of highland habitats, disease and persecution. Informed by sound research, the Ethiopian Wolf Conservation Programme targets the greatest threats to the survival of Ethiopian wolves and their Afroalpine habitat. We promote this charismatic species as a flagship, so protecting many of Ethiopia's endemic species and natural resources.
